TrackTown, USA: We only had to travel from exit 99 on I-5 to exit 199 on I-5 today, but there was a bit of a pit-stop to the Eugene Airport. DT dropped me off and I flew to Paris picked up a rental car (Honda Civic) to use for our time here in Eugene for the NCAA track meet. We rendezvoused a bit later at our usual campsite in Eugene and went out for provisions after lunch (left-over tuna salad).
The Eug seems much unchanged since our visit a year ago for the national championships (the meet that chose the team America sent to Budapest). Was that only last year?

One of our errands this afternoon was to purchase an oven thermometer. We have two fridge/freezer thermometers, but our Barbie Easy-Bake Oven cannot be figured-out be me. So, I went with the scientific (Fauci Yes!) method and bought an oven thermometer. Hopefully this will result in properly baked pizzas in our future?
Since Gina gave us all that gorgeous garlic, I decided to prepare DT's favorite pasta - Aglio Olio (spaghetti with garlic, chili flakes and parmesan) - and I added a bit of broccoli to make it pretend to be healthy.

We had cocktails outside, enjoying dried figs from Gina and Steve, along with rosemary cashews, radishes, and roasted red peppers rolled around feta cubes.

The Aglio Olio and broccoli was served along a fresh organic (local Eugene Commonplace Farms) salad mixture and those Sugar Bomb tomatoes, dressed only in EVOO and Jacobsen Pure Flake Sea Salt.

The national college track & field championships begin tomorrow. Be ready to see fewer photos of food and RVs and more photos of our nation's best college athletes on this little blog.

Until my next update, I remain, your GO DUCKS correspondent.
Campground Information: Premier RV Resorts - A bit confusing, as we have a frequent-flyer discount card, but we are paying about $78 per night. The park is full-service, with every amenity (though the pool is teeny) and is very dog-friendly - with a dog wash. Small shop with limited groceries, RV supplies, Duck stuff, ice cream and ice. It is right on I-5 so quite noisy. The most conveniently located campsite for a visit to Eugene, but is isn't really very convenient. We stay here all the time. Like, really, all the time.
