St. George, Utah: Finally a bit of a rest! It is so difficult to get DT to relax for even an hour, but it is so hot, even DT didn't want to go golfing (we are golfing tomorrow morning though). He wanted to show me where he has golfed a few times with his posse at The Ledges just outside of town. It is a beautiful development, with SW-style homes (some had RV garages) and stunning views. The golf course is also scenic, but Dave thought it might be too challenging for me. Me - the woman who plays Mountain View Country Club several days a week? Anyway, we had ourselves a drive this morning through red rock canyons and ended up downtown St. George for lunch at Angelica's Mexican Grill.
After reading all the glowing reviews, I was a bit surprised to learn it was a counter-service restaurant complete with plastic forks and knives. Whatever, we dug-in to delicious plates of food anyway. Dave had Angelica's Special (carne Asada with grilled bell peppers, onions and melted cheese on top of 3 soft, flat corn tortillas with a side of rice and beans), while I had a chicken quesadilla. We added sour cream and fresh avocado to our orders.

Then we went back to the RV to see how the air conditioner was holding up in the 107° heat. The interior temperature was hovering at 80°, and we called that a win. (Not an ounce of shade at our campsite.)
Our afternoon adventure included a trip to a bookstore. Dave has finished his book and needs another. We found a Barnes & Noble, but Dave did not find a book. Back to the RV.
We listened to the President's speech and then I prepared a cold taco salad... sticking with the Mexican Wednesday vibe. We had to remain awake until 8p (our time) for the start of the Giants v Dodger game #3 of a four-game series in Los Angeles. (Lisa et al have attended one game, but cheering for the Dodgers. Who raised this girl?) (I also love the Dodgers, as did my grandmother.) Though the sky is filled with thunderheads, we have yet to enjoy our nightly cooling thunder-lightning rain-filled storm.
As I wrote above, tomorrow we golf!
The cold water coming from the kitchen faucet in our RV is 102 degrees. No matter if I let it run for two minutes. 102.
Until my next update, I remain, your Mexican food correspondent.
Campground Information: Temple View RV Resort - This is where we have stayed previously in St. George. It hasn't improved much and now has park models. Still, very convenient location to downtown and freeway. Pool, hot tub, laundry, bath house, putting green, shuffle board, horse shoes, fitness center, billiards room. Free wifi with daily rate. We paid less than $60 per night, for a full-hookup site on gravel with cement patio and picnic table.
