TrackTown, USA: We flew up to Oregon for a quick few days to watch the USA’s - the meet that will select the American team for the World Athletics Championships next month in Budapest. Dave originally wanted to drive, leaving just after our babysitting stint ended, driving through Napa (again) and up the coast (again). After looking at $500 per night hotel prices (for $200 rooms), plus meals, plus fuel, plus time, I decided it might be cheaper to just buy a jet. Instead we flew commercial.
The 4L’s have arrived to The City of Light and are tearing up the town, seeing all sites, visiting all the museums and eating all the macarons. When Dave and I were kids, our parents took us camping or to the beach on our summer vacations.

I can't wait to hear their tales!
We have checked into our hotel near the University of Oregon track, Historic Hayward Field. Dave's college roommate, Bruce (he stayed with us last weekend), will join us at the track. We look forward to the next four days, knowing the US will send a stellar team to Budapest.
Another old friend, Vin, met us all for dinner at Marché. Yes, I had the steak frites.

Posers.
Until my next update, your anxious correspondent.
