Dundee Bistro Revisited

McMinnville, Oregon: We had only one appointment today - lunch at the Dundee Bistro (again) with our financial advisors. As you know, we love this restaurant and had a very enjoyable time with the most congenial guys in Portland. Ken is really into making his own tonic waters and other concoctions. A few years ago, I gave Ken a copy of David Lebovitz's Drinking French. Last year Ken gave us a bottle of his home-brewed tonic, made from David's recipe, and today he brought us another - and I returned last-years bottle for deposit. Recycle, people!

My cousin, who used to live in McMinnville, saw that we had been to Roth's Grocer and told us they had the best donuts in town. We have not had a donut since - who knows - so thought we would stop by... I needed lettuce. Boy, did we arrive too late for donuts:

Day Old does describe these donuts

The cousins suggested I get to the grocer a little earlier than 4p! Cheeky.

We did love this suggestion in the store's
wine department though
Appetizers tonight - the last of Gina's dried figs

Back to the campsite for a quiet evening. Before we left this morning I put three boneless skinless chicken thighs in the crockpot with a (14-16 oz?) can of Salsa Verde. Nothing else. On low for six hours. After six hours, I put a bit of long grain rice in the rice cooker and I was the RV Small Appliance Goddess for the Day.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the Tres Amigos went fishing in the pond behind our house (between the 13th and 14th hole). They caught a bass. Catch and release. There was also golfing, swimming, bike riding and who knows what else. It was 105 degrees in La Q today.

Lisa took them to Stuft Pizza for dinner -
and for ice cream after.

Until my next update, I remain, your "tomorrow we get to rest" correspondent.

Campground Information: Olde Stone RV Resort (I think it is no longer the Olde Stone Village RV Resort, but I don't know). With the new facility, this campground really has it all (except for a hot tub). Full-service paved pull-through and back-in sites. Picnic tables. Trash pick-up at your site. We are paying $55.42 per night with a weekly rate.

  1. Terry, I don’t know how to cook small. I’ve always cooked for a large family. All of my appliances are large. So are my Le Creuset pots. I even carried those in our motorhome if we were to be gone for more than a weekend. I guess I’ll need to learn to cook small if I buy another RV because we will downsize as well.
