Lincoln, California: It is well-known amongst my family and friends that the best food in California is found at any of the Taylor Brother's homes. Dave's brothers cook. Their wives cook. Their children cook. It's just in the DNA on all sides, from all sorts of cultures. We eat well. After our Italian repast at Billy's, we pointed the Petit Peregrinus north on I-5 towards Lincoln to spend the night with Brother Steve and Gina. They live on ten acres and have a massive (and flat) driveway we could use as our (free) campsite. Gina prepared asparagus (from her garden), new (dug the same day) potatoes, and Steve grilled filet mignon (purchased). It was a meal fit for a King anyone in this family.

We told too many old stories last night and had a marvelous time catching-up with Dave's next-elder brother. But this morning, they had arranged a wine tasting at Lecavalier - just opened - in Newcastle. The boys tasted, and Gina and I watched while we all devoured a gorgeous cheese plate (that I neglected to photograph!). After this little snack, we went to the main attraction: Dono dal Cielo is a more casual spot in the Sierra foothills. They have a main building serving as a tasting room, but many other venues serving groups (we saw bridal parties and baby showers). This weekend they had a pizza truck and a live band! This is a usual weekend spot for Gina & Steve, so we had so much fun meeting their friends, enjoying delicious pizza and juicy rosé wine.

This place gathered every sort of person of every age. Everyone was so congenial and happy to meet Steve's little brother. Much fun for us - and their wines were very nice as well.
After much deserved naps back at Gina & Steve's, we once again gathered together to enjoy snacks before an early bedtime! Tomorrow, we point this RV north.
Until my next update, I remain, your winey correspondent.

Dave’s family is stationed very nicely for your visits !
What delicious food you have enjoyed. I know Dave
barbecues but does he take over the kitchen to cook
sometime? Doesn’t happen at my house !
Ha ha ha ha ha… he can fry an egg.
