La Quinta, California: It has been a busy week. Number One issue was - yet another - wind storm producing clouds of dust preventing us from going outdoors much and prevented us from even seeing the nearby mountains. We went to dinner at the clubhouse Friday and everyone wanted to dine indoors (rare here) and the staff were scurrying to set up tables not only in the main dining room, but in two auxiliary rooms usually used for private events. Of course, they accommodated us all because this club has such wonderful staff. Dust storms are so awful! Even with every door and window closed tight, the sandy dust gets everywhere!
Remember a few weeks ago when my cousin Rachel (only daughter of my mom's youngest sister) came to visit? Not to be outdone, my cousin Chyrl (only daughter of my mom's eldest sister) came to visit! I tell you, if you want to see your family, just move to a vacation location. Loved seeing Chyrl - as Jimmy would say: Oh the stories we could tell!

We saw the kids over the Memorial Day weekend as Lenny's folks (they live in DC) rented a house in Palm Springs! It was so nice to see his family again - they included Dave and I for dinner Saturday night. Everyone headed back to Los Angeles (flights to catch) early Monday morning, but Lisa brought Leo and Lucile out to us for a Memorial Day BBQ and pool time... and a car swap. They are going to use our Chevy Traverse while we are away.
Two videos: Not 100% sure this was a good idea because possibly my new electric bike weighs more than Leo... but... he took her for a spin and just loved my bike.
The children always have all sorts of competitions at our pool. Biggest Splash. Best Cannonball. Best Trick Dive. It's exhausting... yet so much fun:
After our family drove back to Los Angeles (four hours in terrible traffic, ugh), we went to our RV storage place to fetch the PP. She was washed this morning, and we spent the afternoon loading her up for a two-plus month adventure (if you feel spending nearly all of June in Oregon for track meets an adventure). (We do.)

Hopefully my next update will be posted somewhere down the road. We will take a week or so to reach TrackTown USA. Follow along!
Until my next update, I remain, your packed-up correspondent.
Safe travels!
We are on our way to Las Vegas this weekend – Sat. concert; we will also take in a show on Friday night. Will be scouring your blog for some eating recommendations.
