Mother’s Day Golf

Borrego Springs, California: Happy Mother's Day! I spent the day golfing with DT, Debbie and Mark (they drove over from La Quinta). They had never played this course, so it was fun for them (I think), but it was super hot and we went through gallons of water. This was the first time our old friends have toured our teeny RV.

A beautiful sunny day in Borrego Springs.

Yes, we are pretty. And, yes, Debbie usually out-drives us all. She is amazing. (And tall.) After our 18 holes, Debbie and Mark treated us to lunch at Carlee's - the same "biker" bar we took Leo and Lucile a few weeks ago. No motorcycles parked outside today and a very small clientele. Maybe everyone was at Mother's Day brunch? Who knows or cares - the food is just delicious. Nevermind that one serving at Carlee's serves four.

Burp - and Dave and I only split an appetizer (Irish Nachos - your usual nachos, just substitute tortilla chips with potato wedges) and did not finish half. A great day with great friends. Debbie and Mark headed back to the Coachella Valley after lunch. They will return to their East Bay Area summer home in a week.

A quiet evening in our RV, with very little food prepared. We watched the (recorded) last-ever Pac-12 Track & Field Champions from Boulder. Oregon women won the Championship. The University of Washington won the men's title, while the Duck men finished 4th. (But, shhhhh, do not tell DT. I googled the results so I can close-out this column, while he is still watching.)

Until my next update, I remain, your over-par correspondent.
