Living Desert Glow Park 3.0

La Quinta, California: It's a bit confusing to explain all the travel scenarios, but everyone in the 4L family needed to be in a different city over the weekend, so we had Lucile alone - fetching her from 5th Grade Camp Saturday. It is special to have a grandchild alone. Much quieter! And the weather is absolutely spectacular (in the 90s!) and the pool is quite enjoyable.

Our zoo, The Living Desert, is clever enough to plan their big fund-raiser, Glow Park, over March and April to take advantage of all the families in town for Spring Break. This is the third year we have attended. It is always an amazing evening with dazzling displays. This year was no different. We took Lucy out to dinner at a French place on El Paseo, and entered the zoo at 6:30p - so still time to see a few critters before the sunset.

I've mentioned previous, the zoo has a young mating pair of Black Rhinos, but the staff have kept them separate until recently. If young rhinos grow up together, they usually will not mate.

Lucy wanted to pose here as she know her Dad does not like snakes.
A microphone in front of these budgies allowed them to mimic your voice.

You could make a mold of your body by leaning into a standing bed of peg!

And... there was a swing through the gift shop! It was a fun evening.
