2025 Roomie Reunion

La Quinta, California: The boys are back together, celebrating meeting in the University of Oregon freshman dorms in 1973. As I have mentioned previously, they are all still married to their first wives, and they have only daughters. I can now add all the daughters have graduated college. Bruce and Lisa’s daughter, Sierra, graduated last spring from Oregon and is the only daughter to have graduated from Oregon.

Looks important

The first night of the reunion fell on National Margarita Day, so the beverage was served with guacamole with avocados from Lisa & Lenny's tree, along with a tray of chicken and green chili enchiladas, a roasted corn salad and a fruit salad:

Enchiladas

Marcia & Red brought dessert and they hit it out of the park with a fabulous chocolate and raspberry cake from Jensen's:

GO DUCKS!

The cake was crazy delicious and so chocolaty - with a great raspberry hit at the same time. Devoured by all.

There was a lot of pool time as the temperatures rose to the 90s during the reunion. So lovely and there was no wind. Miracle. Our country club was holding some-sort of golf tournament, so we did not golf. But we did enjoy brunch at the clubhouse and tacos at Tacos Gonzalez, and went to the local Mexican grocer to purchase a few local specialities.

One day we all went to the Living Desert Zoo, as Marcia & Red's eldest, Jessica, was visiting from Illinois. Everyone fed (very expensive) romaine lettuce to the giraffes and we walked around the entire zoo.

So many birds have been been either removed from exhibits or their cages have been wrapped in local-bird-invasion-safe nettings due to the bird flu virus. So interesting.

Another lantern festival

The zoo is busy setting-up for another light festival. Our grandkids are arriving for Spring Break in a few weeks and they asked if we could take them again to the Zoo Lights, so I guess we will go again.

Until my next update, I remain, your sheet-changing correspondent.
