Why do I mention this now? Well, as you probably know… I keep detailed travel journals (POSTCARDS FROM THE ROAD), but I just never thought about putting our Italy trip (or any of our other non-RV trips) on The Camping Journal website… because our trip to Italy just wasn’t camping. But, since this is my new fun blog, and every RV Goddess needs a non-RV vacation once in a while – I have posted my Italy 2006 Travel Journal!
This weekend, I also posted all three of our RV travelogues from 2000. My, that was a boring chore. It is unbelievable how much things have changed in the technical world since DT retired and we began serious RVing.
My 2000 journals are mostly words… hardly any photos. And what photos I do have are very small and the quality is not very good. (I think I had a 2.0 megapixel camera, and that was HUGE for 2000.) This was long before wifi, and certainly before we had a Datastorm Internet dish on the roof of our motorhome. Every page and every photo was posted into cyberspace using my cell phone tethered to my laptop. Dinosaur!
Thank goodness, times have changed. In fact, on the Italy trip, I posted twice from aboard a Lufthansa plane somewhere over the polar cap!
As the years have gone by, I have written less and posted larger (and I think better) photos. Within the next few weeks, I will be moving the rest of our RV travelogues from The Camping Journal website to RVGoddess.com – and I will also be adding the travel journals from our non-RV trips… three week Baltic Cruise, Osaka World Track & Field Championships, culinary tours, Olympic Trials and other fun adventures.
Thank you for reading!
PS: Don’t read the Italy journal if you are hungry!
