It is nice to roll this dough in extra oats before placing in the loaf pan – embedding the oats in the crust makes for a pretty finished loaf.
ADD TO BREAD MACHINE IN THIS ORDER:
1 1/3 cups milk
2 Tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon salt
½ cup old-fashioned or rolled oats
3 cups white bread flour
¼ cup brown sugar
2½ teaspoons yeast
Use white/dough cycle. After cycle is finished, put dough on floured board, let rest 10 minutes, then shape into loaf and place in 2 pound oiled loaf pan. Let rise until doubled, 40-50 minutes. Bake at 375° until done, about 28 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
