Napa, California: In Napa, I have run for about an hour everyday or I will blow-up like a blimp… not to mention the seven pounds I brought home from Italy… so first thing this morning, DT and I went down to Kennedy Park to run on the trails along the Napa River. I just love running here – quiet, safe, tons of birds and pretty views everywhere. Besides miles of trails, JFK Park has group picnic areas, covered pavilions, playgrounds, ball fields, a golf course and a boat ramp.
Napa Creek flows into the Napa River at this site, forming a large marshy area, teeming with bird life. I ran 30 minutes north on the trail, then turned-around and jogged back to the car. DT ran for nearly the same amount of time (of course, covering far more miles).
Woody, DT and I went to the Oxbow Public Market for lunch. Maybe we have never visited on a weekend… but the place was simply hopping. Long lines at all the restaurants and every seat taken.
We tried a new restaurant, Kitchen Door (website has music), that had once been used as a wine-tasting bar and cheese shop.

While at the restaurant, we happily watched Lenny’s Washington Redskins beat the San Diego Chargers in overtime!
Just before five o’clock Mary & Steve arrived. They drove from Portland to meet us all here for the week. We had dinner at Azzurro Pizza in Napa and then returned to the motorhomes to watch more football on television.
Until my next update, I remain, your Napa correspondent.
RV PARK: Napa Valley Expo RV Park. Our favorite campground in the area. Long paved full-service pull-through sites with 50 amp. Bathhouse, laundry, free wifi, lawn, picnic table. At the fairgrounds and just a short drive to downtown Napa. We paid $45 per night, with a Good Sam discount.
