Indio, California: If you watched the Kraft-Nabisco LPGA tournament on television today (and I know you all did), you have some idea of the weather we “enjoyed” today. Blustery stuff. 85-degrees and the sky so filled with dust, the surrounding mountains virtually disappeared in a grey haze. We ran. We spent the afternoon at the pool. I sneezed. We read. But everything we did out of doors today was alee.
When the wind is just-right, every bougainvillea flower in the lake shows up in front of our campsite overnight. Actually, it is often quite pretty. But no matter, six days a week a crew of dudes show up in the early morning and scoop the flowers up and haul them away – leaving us with a pristine coastline.
Life is good with $500-per-month HOAs.
Even though the wind was blowing gale-force winds – at 6:30p Jim & Mary fetched us for dinner in their Rolls Royce Golf Cart! We really travel in style, don’t we???
On Sunday evening, the Motorcoach Country Club features food from Chapelli’s Italian Restaurant. Tonight they offered Veal Milanese, Beef Tenderloin, Penne Arrabiatta and a grilled salmon entree. Dinners included minestrone soup or a nice tossed salad, and a brownie ala mode dessert.
Jim took this photo with my camera! He ordered the salmon, and the rest of us ordered Veal Milanese. Service is always good at the Motorcoach Country Club restaurant and the view over the waterway is always beautiful.
Until my next update, I remain, your blustery correspondent.
