Indio, California: Somewhere along our month-long trip to Borrego Springs and Arizona, DT and I started referring to our RV site in Indio as “home”… as in, “it’s sure warmer at home”. Now that we are back in Indio, we reverted to calling our house in Oregon “home”.
Our drive today was only about an hour. We left the beautiful desert for the beautiful irrigated and landscaped desert, and returned to the Motorcoach Country Club just after noon.
We have returned to our beautiful view:
Our little casita was all well and it is amazing how our plants have grown.
Our climbing rose, that seemed like a dried-out shrub when we left one month ago, is actually blooming!
The first thing we did after turning off the RV engine was head immediately to Tacos Gonzales for lunch.
A girl just should not be separated from her tacos for too long.
Dinner was enjoyed in our casita, while watching the Fighting Ducks beat the Lowly Beavers in yet another sporting event. The fans were most amusing this evening, celebrating famed Duck alum, Phil Knight, as he celebrated his 75th birthday. The team wore jerseys reading “Uncle Phil Knows Birthdays”. Very clever. Would have been a crappy birthday if the Ducks had lost.
But they did not.
Salad: half an avocado stuffed with my Almost-Fat-Free Blue Cheese Dressing, served with tomatoes and lots of cracked pepper… and whole-grain pasta tossed with greens and garlic… and a little parmesan:
A great game and a great night to celebrate our home coming.
Until my next update, I remain, your Indio correspondent.
