Indio, California: Lisa and Lenny have rented a house in Palm Springs (with another couple with a same-age-as-Leo daughter) for a long weekend vacation. We went out to see them today. The house is simply darling – three bedroom, 2 bath, high-end appliances and a pool and hot tub.
Little Leo is now 2 years and 8 months old. Little guy still weighs 25 pounds. I brought him some butter cookies, with emphasis on the butter.
Hopefully Lenny will eat a few as well.
The kids will come to the old trailer park to spend a few days with us before they head back to El Lay.
Meanwhile, back to March Madness. The Ducks lost today to Wisconsin. It was a really good game, as the Ducks led most of the way… except they did not have the lead at the end of the game, and that, apparently, is when it counts. (I am a bad fan and picked them to lose to Wisconsin on my bracket.)
Good news? Outdoor track & field season started today.
Red & a Duck fan in Wisconsin
Dave’s college roommate, Red (and his wife, Marcia), went to the Duck game in Milwaukie, Wisconsin. Red, who lives in Chicago, is pictured here with a recent Duck alum he met at the game. Red had a tough day – he received his MBA from Harvard, so both of his alma maters exited the tournament today. Ouch.
And then he had to drive back to Chicago.
Dave and I watched the Duck v Wisconsin game in our covered shade pavilion. Temperatures were warm and I was making Chipotle Cod Tacos with Picked Red Onions for dinner… so I made a margarita (yellow & green!). My efforts did not help the Ducks.
But it certainly helped me.
Until my next update, I remain, your losing correspondent.
