Afternoon with Lucy

Los Angeles, California:  It has been far too long since I have posted a blog update from Los Angeles! Too long since we have seen our perfect grandchildren. Between therapy appointments, MRI appointments, surgery appointments, healing, rehabilitation, trustee meetings... and a quick weekend in Las Vegas for the Pac-12 basketball tournament... we were so very ready to see Leo and Lucy - and their parents.

We drove to Los Angeles this morning to watch Lucy all afternoon while Lisa did volunteer work and Leo was in school. (Lenny was at work.)

Lucy is a little chatterbox. Just like her momma at the same age. She loves books, Hello Kitty and Peppa Pig.

Lenny and Lisa painted their front door a new bright peacocky-blue-green this week. The color is fantastic.

Lucy - 2 years, 8 months

A certain little girl wanted to pose with her head in the peep-window... just as her brother did five years ago when they moved into this house.

Leo, at 8 months

The weather was just lovely in Los Angeles - in the mid-80's. Quite a change from 97-degree Indio.

We waited on the front stoop for everyone to return from their busy days.

Lucy made friends with a small lizard, who was quite content to sun his/herself on the front steps... until a certain five-year-old returned from school and scared the lizard away.

No (current) photos of Leo on this page today. Little dude is too busy to pose for his old Bubbe. I promise to work on this situation over the next several days, as we spend more time with both kids.

NOTE TO READERS: The Fighting Ducks face the Iona Gaels (in Sacramento) at 11a pacific tomorrow. TBS will air the game. I don't want to jinx a #3 (Oregon) seed facing a #14 seed, but how risky is it to play an opponent called The Gaels on St. Patrick's Day? Does not seem like a good idea to me at all. Luckily our team colors include green. Pretty sure this fact alone will be all the luck o' the duck required.

GO DUCKS!

Until my next update, I remain, your Los Angeles correspondent.
